Get Fit!

Morris Elementary 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students focus on being fit!!  The Physical Education Department places emphasizes on the importance of physical fitness and the consequences of not being physically fit.  Many children in today’s society are participating less and less in physical activities.  This is a reason for concern.  At James B. Morris, it is important to us that our students are as safe and healthy as they can possibly be.

The P.E. Department will hold a Get Fit Program.  Students will meet Monday through Friday from 7:35 to 8:05 AM throughout the school year.  Students have the opportunity to participate in several different types of activities. They can play soccer, basketball, dodge ball, capture the flag or join the runners club.

In the past few years we have had more than 50 students participate in the program.  Our goal is to provide a safe environment where the kids can enjoy being physically active while having fun!  The students also learn how to interact with their peers while exhibiting the six pillars of character.  Equally important they will be active and healthier.
