I grew up in Dubuque, Iowa. I went to Dubuque Senior High School and then went on to graduate from UNI. I then continued on to get my masters from the University of Houston. I started my teaching in Houston, Texas then moved to Des Moines Public Schools in 2008. My husband is Bryce and we have our son Hayden, daughter Mackenzie, and our dog Houston.
I grew up in Fredricksburg. I went to Sumner-Fredericksburg High School and then on to college at Iowa State University. I started teaching physical education for DMPS in 2019. I have two older sisters and three step-brothers. I live with my longtime girlfriend Sarah and our dog, Rueben.
I grew up in Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa and Drake University. I began work with DMPS in 1999. I have three grown daughters and five grandchildren. I love to bike with my friends, travel, and read.

I grew up in Emmetsburg and attended Emmetsburg High School. My teaching career began at Iowa State University where I earned my B. S. degree in elementary education with an endorsement in the area of reading. I received my M. A. degree in education from Viterbo University. I have been teaching in the Des Moines Public School District since 2000. I am married with two children.
I grew up in Northwest Iowa. I attended high school in Rock Valley and college at Bemidji State University in Minnesota. After graduating from college, I taught at the Leach Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota. We moved to Des Moines and I taught at Holy Family School. In 1999, I began working at DMPS. I was a Reading Recovery Teacher at Willard Elementary. After that I went to Studebaker, where I was an interventionist. Then I moved to McKinley, where I was an Instructional Coach and continued in this role at Morris Elementary. I am married with 2 kids, 2 grandchildren, and 4 grand dogs!
I grew up in Chariton. I went to Chariton High School. I attended Iowa State and then went on to earn my masters. Before starting work at DMPS in 2000, I owned Next Generation Computer School. I live in Urbandale with my husband, Ron, and our twin daughters, Gyllian and Gabbie. I love working out and spending time with friends and family.
I grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Roosevelt High School. I attended the University of Northern Iowa and then attended Drake to earn my masters. I have two adult children. I love reading and spending time on the boat.
I grew up in Southern California and Upstate New York. I went to El Cajon Valley High School. I went to William Penn University and then on to Drake University to get my masters. My three children are Nate, Zack, and Cady. Growing up, I always wanted to be a published author. It is a dream I still have today.
I grew up in Des Moines and went to Lincoln High School. I attended Upper Iowa and then went on to get my masters at Morningside College. I started my teaching career in 2001 with DMPS. I am a mother of two young men. Both sons attend Iowa State University. We enjoy traveling and exploring together.
I grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I attended Sioux Falls Lincoln High School and then went to college at University of South Dakota where I studied Psychology and Social Work.
I grew up in Ohio and attended Catholic Central High School. I went on to college at the University of Toledo. I started working at DMPS in 2018. My parents live in Ohio. I have an older sister in New Jersey, an older brother in Arizona, and two dogs still in Ohio. I enjoy biking, baking, being out doors, and being around my family and friends.
I grew up on a farm in southern Iowa. I attended Mormon Trail High School and Buena Vista for college. I began working at DMPS in 2000. My parents and siblings still reside in Iowa, which is nice having them close. I am blessed with 6 nieces and nephews and 2 great nieces and a great nephew. They all bring me joy. I have been an interventionist at Morris for quite a while. I enjoy building positive relationships with our students and guiding them in their learning.
I grew up in Des Moines and attended Dowling Catholic High School. I went on to attend college at Grand View University and Morningside. I started at DMPS in 2004 as a substitute teacher and then began full time in 2006. I have a daughter named Serena and she is a substitute teacher.
I grew up in Garber, Iowa where I went to High School at Central of Elkader Community Schools. I went on to Upper Iowa University and then to Graceland University for my Masters. I started teaching in Des Moines in 2004. I am married to my husband, Charlie. We have 3 kids, Wyatt, Scarlett, and Violet. My family and I reside in Yellow Banks Park with our three dogs, Buster, Rambo, and Crixus. While at Morris, I have taught both Kindergarten and First Grade.
I am a Des Moines native who later went on to live in Minnesota and Texas before returning home. I attended Hanawalt Elementary, Merrill Middle School, and then Roosevelt High School while I was growing up. I enrolled in St. Olaf College in Minnesota for my social work degree and the University of St. Thomas for my teaching degree. I started teaching in 2003 and later joined DMPS in 2012. I have 5 boys, a cat and a dog. I love to garden, read, and watch Star Wars, Marvel, and DC movies.
I grew up in Iowa City, Iowa and went to school at Regina High School. I attended college at University of Northern Iowa and am currently working towards my masters under the Blue Contract. I began working at Des Moines Public Schools in 2020 as an art teacher. I am married to Christian. and we enjoy spending time outdoors and walking.
I grew up in Davis, California and graduated from Davis Senior High. I started working at DMPS in 2017. I have a husband, 2 boys, a daughter-in-law, a grandson, and a granddaughter. We also have 3 dogs. We live near a lake. We love to spend time swimming during the summer.
I grew up on a farm near the small town of Dows, Iowa. I have 3 sisters and 3 brothers. I attended elementary and high school at Dows Community School. I graduated from college from the University of Montana-Western. I taught 1st and 2nd grades in Montana before moving back to Iowa. I started teaching Reading Recovery and Kindergarten at DMPS in the fall of 2001. My husband, Joe, and I have 2 children, a yellow lab, a cat, and 3 horses.
I have worked for DMPS since 2015. I have 4 older sisters. I am the only man in the family. I play drums and the bass guitar. I enjoy my music and spending time with my family.
I grew up in Perry, IA–born and raised. I attended Perry High School from Kindergarten thru 12th grade and am a Perry graduate. I have lifelong friendships still to this day from being raised in a small town. I started working at DMPS in 1995 for the Success Program for about 3.5 years and then left briefly to work elsewhere. Then, returned in 1999. I attended Northwest Missouri State University for undergraduate–B.S. Psychology. Applied and was accepted into the University of Iowa School of Social Work Program and attended from 2011-2015. Then, was hired as a school social worker for DMPS and have been in this job for 6 years. It is a very challenging job. I have worked in the following DMPS elementary school buildings over my career: King, Findley, Morris, Samuelson, Perkins, Greenwood, Windsor, Cowles, and the Downtown School. I also served several parochial schools such as, St. Augustin, St. Teresa’s, Holy Trinity, and St. Francis of Assisi. Each building is unique is its own right….that is for sure! I don’t have any of my own children, but I am an aunt to 3 lovely nieces and I also have 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew (and another on the way). I have one black cat, fur baby, name Cleo who is almost 18 years old! I love flowers and plant several pots every year around my house and patio area–also like to travel, shop, and spend time with family and friends.
I grew up in Des Moines and went to high school at Des Moines Roosevelt. I went to college at Simpson College! GO STORM!!! I also got my masters degree from Drake University. I started teaching at Morris in 2006. My husband, James, and I have 2 daughters, Kameryn and Kourtney, and the cutest puppy, Storm. My daughters love playing softball. I love hanging out with my family and friends, reading, and going on bike rides. I am so excited to be your teacher and can’t wait to get to know you!
I grew up in West Des Moines where I attended Valley High School and then I went to Grand View College. In 1997, I began teaching Preschool at McKinley Elementary. I have two daughters; Carly and Hilary. I love helping students learn academically, but more importantly as people. It makes me so happy to see them as they grow into their greatest selves.
I grew up in Norwalk, Iowa and graduated from Norwalk High School. I went on to study Education at University of Northern Iowa. I started teaching in Des Moines in 1994. I’m married to Chad and we have three children, Spencer, Allison, and Chase. We also have our dog, Jeter.
I grew up in Carlisle, Iowa. I went to high school at Carlisle High and I attended college at Simpson College in Indianola. I started with DMPS right out of college in 2001. I taught Special Education for K-5 at Longfellow/Carver Elementary for 9 years. I then taught 5th grade for 10 years at Carver Elementary. Then I was the K-5 Literacy Instructional Coach and IB Coordinator at Park Avenue before coming to Morris Elementary as an Instructional Coach. I come from a small family with two older sisters. My parents and sisters live within walking distance of each other in my hometown. I married my husband, Joe. We have one daughter, Sofia . We live in Ankeny. We also have an Aussidoodle puppy named Lexi. We love to do anything outdoors including biking, hiking, and playing ball.
I grew up in Clive, Iowa. I graduated from Valley High School and then went on to college at Iowa State. I then went on to get my masters at Drake. I am married with four children.
I grew up in small-town Oelwein, Iowa where I attended Oelwein High School. I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education at UNI. I received my Master’s in Education from Grandview University. I started working for Des Moines Public School District in 2010. I am married and we have one daughter. Fun fact: I have an identical twin sister. I enjoy baking, riding bikes, and gardening. I love the Iowa State Cyclones!
I grew up in South Des Moines. I attended Morris (formerly Watrous) as a student from K-6th grade and graduated from Lincoln High School. I went on to attend college at Des Moines Area Community College, Iowa State University, and Drake University. I have an Early Childhood endorsement and enjoy helping children learn. I taught in the Urbandale Community School District for six years teaching 1st and 3rd grade. In 2014, I joined the Morris staff. I have one daughter, Emily. I enjoy traveling and visiting warm tropical climates and watching basketball-Go Bulldogs! I love to garden, plant flowers, and can all of my garden produce during the summer months. I was recently named Iowa Teacher of the Year at Living History Farms. So glad to be part of the Morris family!!
I grew up in Ankeny, Iowa. I went to high school at Ankeny High School and then to college at Drake University. I worked for Des Moines Public Schools from 1992-1995 and then again from 1999 to the present. My husband, Brad, is a teacher for DMPS. My other son , Jonathan, is married and teaches 4th grade at Grinnell. My younger son, Joe, works at an insurance company in Des Moines.
I grew up on the south side of Des Moines. I attended high school at Lincoln. I continued my education at Des Moines Area Community College. In February of 2016, I started working for DMPS. My whole family is from Des Moines. I have a huge family, 13 aunts and uncles as well as 56 first cousins.
I grew up in Des Moines and attended Lincoln High School. I began working for DMPS in 2001. My husband and I have raised three wonderful children and are blessed to have one beautiful grandchild. I enjoy the outdoors. I like walking, biking, and all water activities. I’m a life long Southsider and I’m very proud to be part of the Morris family.
I grew up in Mason City, Iowa and attended Mason City High School. I received my masters from Viterbo University. I began working at DMPS in 1996. I am married and have a boy and a girl.
I grew up in Texas and attended Raymondville High School in Texas and Pasco High School in the state of Washington. I went to Upper Iowa University and then to graduate school at Graceland University. I started working with DMPS in 1991. I grew up with 3 brothers so I had to play football and baseball with them, being the only girl. I am married and we have 3 kids: Rafael Jr., our daughter, Renee, and our son, Brandon. We also have a daughter-in-law, Tara. We have 4 granddaughters and a grandson. I love to listen to music, dance, plant flowers, and landscape. I enjoy camping and playing games.
I am the ALP (Advanced Learning Program) Consultant for Morris Elementary. I grew up in this great city of Des Moines and graduated from Roosevelt High School here in DMPS. St. Olaf College is where I spent my college years and received my teaching degree and a degree in Psychology. After college, I moved back to Des Moines and got my first teaching job in Waukee where I taught third grade, fifth grade, and was an ELP (Extended Learning Program) teacher for 13 years.
I began teaching in 2017 at DMPS- all within the Advanced Learning Program. I serve Morris, Lovejoy and Park Ave. I love my job! Being able to support both students and teachers provides an opportunity for me to build wonderful relationships throughout the years and meet the needs of all of my students.
I live in Des Moines with my husband, two daughters- Lily and Elizabeth, and our dog, Goose. My girls also attend DMPS schools. We love to be outside, play games, cheer on the Cyclones and spend time with friends and family! I am looking forward to a wonderful year!

I grew up in Carlisle, Iowa and attended Carlisle High School. I went on to attend Grand View University and started teaching at DMPS following my graduation in 2020. I have a mom, dad, and two older brothers. My family has two cats and a dog.
I grew up in Dexter, Iowa and graduated from Dexter High School. I have worked at DMPS since 2016. My husband, Jay, is a Registered Nurse at the Newton Prison. We have 3 wonderful kids. Zach is going to graduate nursing school. Ashley lives in Kansas City. She is working on her environmental science degree and works at the Kansas City Aquarium. Hannah is attending the University of Northern Iowa. We have a dog named Denver and 2 cats-Jenna and Daisy. I love to bake and spend time with my family.
I grew up in Ankeny, Iowa. I went to Ankeny High School and attended Iowa State University for 1 year. I then attended Simpson College for 3 years. I went on to graduate school at Drake University. In 2006, I began teaching for DMPS. I have been married to Alicia since 2018. We have a son, Conor. We also have 3 pugs, Cooper, Doug, and Walter. I come from a family where most have been in the field of education. My mom and stepmom taught and worked for DMPS before retiring. My brother still teaches kindergarten at Capitol View Elementary.
I grew up in Adel, Iowa. I went to Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School. I graduated from Iowa State University in 2016 with a degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services. I then went to the University of Iowa in 2018 to earn my masters in social work. I became a school-based therapist with Morris Elementary in 2020. I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and cat, Cleo.
I grew up in Williams, Iowa. I attended high school at Northeast Hamilton. I attended Simpson College for my undergraduate courses and Drake University for my graduate courses. I began working at DMPS in 2011. I am married to Ted. We have 3 children. Max loves to be the “boss” and tell her brothers what to do. Our twin boys, Cal and Trig, love to play outside and learn about animals. We enjoy going to the park and we’re excited to spend time at the zoo and the pool this summer.
I’m from Colesburg, Iowa and graduated from Edgewood-Colesburg High School. Four years later I graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa majoring in elementary education. I’m married to Allison Salow and we have two daughters Lilian and Lucille.
I grew up in northwestern Iowa in a very small farm town, Paullina. I went to high school at South O’ Brien. I went to college at Buena Vista University and Upper Iowa University. I started with DMPS in 2014. I have a husband- Jeff, a daughter-Madison, a son-Finley, and a dog-Scooter. We like to golf, swim, bike, and travel.
I grew up on the Gulf Coast of Florida in New Port Richey. I went to Gulf High School and then to Central College. I went on to Morningside College to get my master’s degree. I began teaching in 2001 for DMPS. I am married to John and have 2 sons, Chase and Wyatt. We have 2 dogs, Sophie Bear and Sweet Pea. I love teaching at Morris. When I am not at school, I enjoy walking the dogs, riding my bike, and spending time with my family at the lake.
I grew up in small town Iowa. I attended Des Moines Area Community College for Early Childhood Education and then went on to Grand View University for Human Services. I fell in love with the metro and decided to stay after college. I have worked in many different settings with children, but I have fallen in love with Morris! My husband and I have two young boys, Finn and Cohen. We enjoy spending our time with friends and family or doing things outdoors!
I grew up in Waterloo, Iowa. I attended West Waterloo High and went to college at the University of Northern Iowa. In 2003, I began working for DMPS. My husband, Don, and I have 3 children (Alisha, Brenden, Connor) and 1 grandchild (Huxley). We also have 2 dogs (Bixby and Kylie).
I grew up in Des Moines and attended East High School (3rd generation Scarlet). I graduated from Grand View College School of Nursing. I began working for DMPS in 2006, after being employed as a hospital staff nurse for 20 years. I have one son who is a Morris Elementary alum. I have been a registered nurse for over 34 years. I love Morris and I love being a school nurse!
I grew up in Carlisle and attended Carlisle High School. Then I attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. I started at DMPS in 1991. Gary, my husband, and I have 4 girls: Mary-Grace who is married and in graduate school at Drake for occupational therapy, Joanna who graduated from Iowa State University in interior design, Emma is an elementary major at Iowa State University and is also in the Iowa National Guard, and Sarah who will attend Iowa State University and start studying animal science and plans to go on to veterinary school. We also have 2 chocolate labs-Max and Maggie, who are very spoiled. I enjoy walking, gardening, and watching high school and college sports.
