The school bell times at Morris will change with the beginning of the 2018-19 school year. Our new start time is 7:30 AM and we will dismiss at 2:25 PM, with a 75 minute early dismissal on Wednesdays. Morris teachers celebrate Book Character Day!

Morris students and staff celebrated National Library Week with fun activities to promote reading and using the public libraries.  The culminating activity was Book Character Day where students and staff got to dress up!

At DMPS, we work to ensure that students are receiving a great education in schools that are not only first-rate learning environments, but are also safe and secure. Over the years DMPS has taken many steps to better ensure the safety and well being of our students, staff, parents and visitors. Students who attend a Title I school in Des Moines like Morris may be eligible for tutoring services at no cost to their family. In order to be eligible, students must attend one of the 28 Title I schools in Des Moines and meet low income guidelines. To learn more and to register, click on the headline.

Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, this school will be offering school choice for the 2015-16 school year. This is required by NCLB of schools “in need of improvement.” Click the headline for more information and to download a School Choice request form. All forms are due no later than July 1.
