Read with the Cat
“Grab your Hat and Read with the Cat,” is the new reading challenge Morris Elementary will begin this week in honor of Dr. Seuss! Students are asked to read a certain amount of minutes each day while also recording their thinking in a “Cat-a-log.” The reading challenge will take place from March 4th and continue through spring break. To kick things off, Morris celebrated the life and literature of Dr. Seuss by dressing up last week. On Monday students and staff were asked to wear green, Tuesday they dressed as their favorite character, and on Wednesday everyone got wacky with their wardrobe by wearing miss-matching items. To finish the week on Thursday students and staff were showing off their stripes, and on Friday everyone wore hats to school. Special guest readers and prizes will also await students during the next few weeks. It is guaranteed to be a fun time!
