Starting Feb. 15: Morris Students Will Be Either in School 5 Days a Week OR Virtual All Day

Morris Families:

As we prepare to bring some of the students back into the building 5 days starting on Monday, Feb. 15, I wanted to share some of the safety precautions we are taking and the changes you need to know about. We look forward to seeing some of our students very soon!

· No cohorts anymore- the students that chose 100% in person will be here every day. The virtual students will be online learning everyday at home.

· Many classes/teachers will change, so the teachers will be calling you this week to let you know only if you have a change.

· School hours in person are 7:45-2:40, but you can start dropping off at 7:30.

· Virtual school hours are 8:00-11:00 and 12:00-2:30- same amount of instruction time as in person students every day

· Students in person need to bring their laptops to school, and they will be kept here until we hear of a virtual snow day.

· Arrival and Dismissal will take place in the front and back of the building only. We will have a drive up/drop off system starting at 7:30, and then again at dismissal at 2:40. Click  HERE  to see map.

· Multiple students- drop off and pick up with the youngest student– you don’t need to go to the front and back!

· We ask that parents remain in your cars for arrival and dismissal because no visitors are allowed in the building. If you stay in your car, the students can get out quickly and this helps the line run faster.

· Call the office for early pick ups ahead of time, and when you arrive.

· If you walk your child to school, all must have masks on when they enter school property.

· We will still have afterschool Metro if you are interested.

· We will continue with lunch in the classrooms so that we can distance the students when their masks are off to eat.

· We will plan in recess/brain breaks throughout the day, weather permitting we will get them outside to move around.

· Students can bring their own water bottles for filling because drinking fountains are turned off.

· The classrooms are set up with the desks/tables as far apart as we can but students will need to wear masks at all times.

· We have hand sanitizer stations all throughout the building and the teachers and custodians will be taking extra cleaning and sanitizing precautions.

· We have markers in the hallways to help the students space out 6 feet apart.

· We ask that if your child does not feel well, that you keep them at home and call the school to report the absence- this is for in person and virtual learning.

· Bus students we recommend that you download the Here Comes the Bus App so that you can monitor where the bus is. The code is 87641.

· We will continue to send out info on School CNXT, so make sure you set up an account and check regularly.

· No spring conferences this year. Teachers are always available if you want to check on your child’s progress.
